Tofu has the reputation of being a vegetable meat, and it can double its nutrition with the best "partner".



Tofu + fish, meat, eggs. Tofu is rich in good protein, but it has less methionine. Methionine is an essential amino acid that is involved in protein synthesis. The amino acid composition in fish, meat and eggs is more suitable for human needs, especially rich in methionine, which can play a significant role in protein complementation when combined with tofu. Classic methods are fish head tofu soup, braised fish with tofu, baked bean curd balls, minced meat tofu, eggs mixed with tofu, and so on.



Tofu + seaweed. Tofu contains saponins, which help to inhibit fat absorption, promote fat decomposition and prevent arteriosclerosis. But saponins can promote the excretion of iodine, easy to cause iodine deficiency, so tofu with kelp, laver, sea cabbage and other iodine-rich food cooked together, such as tofu kelp soup.



Tofu + cabbage. Chinese cabbage is rich in water, dietary fiber and vitamin C, which can make up for the deficiency of tofu dietary fiber. Fried tofu with cabbage and braised tofu with cabbage are all good choices.



It should be noted that a large amount of tofu will absorb excessive plant-based protein, which will increase the amount of nitrogen waste in the body and increase the burden on the kidneys. Therefore, elderly people and people with kidney disease, iron deficiency anemia, gout and arteriosclerosis should control the consumption of tofu.
